No matter what the super trends are for fall, no one can argue the irresistible draw of fall fashion. Is it the nostalgia? Is it the textures? The layers? The patterns? Probably a little bit of each. But this year specifically, fall 2025 trends are bringing something back we haven't seen in quite some time. Color.
Obviously color, to some extent, never actually goes out of style. But, collectively, we cannot deny neutral palettes have had a tight grip on society for over a decade. In all facets. And I'm sensing a breakthrough. Everyone in the fashion world is. Maximalism is creeping it way back in and color is making a case for itself once again.
Now, I always think resurfaced trends come back refined and improved from the original. No difference here. We're seeing some interesting colors and color combinations for fall 2025 but they are all done so tastefully. The shades more modern, the mixing more sophisticated and elevated, yet very unexpected and interesting. Like, turn your head, catch your (and others) eye interesting. Fall fashion is always the happiest season, but these color trends for fall 2025 make it even more so.
Autumnal Orange
I remember seeing hints of orange popping up last year, but never thought it would take off in such a big way. Now, I can't stop noticing the most unexpected color. Maybe more of a micro trend for fall 2025, but I forecast this one to gain traction. It's such a natural fit, blending in with the changing leaves, making you want to grab a coffee & take a stroll. Shades of brown are always a great compliment for autumnal orange and I personally think it bounces off of blue denim - its color wheel compliment - rather beautifully.
Shades Of Green
Green has been a long-time friend of fall fashion. This season, however, we're seeing shades typically reserved in our minds for warmer months, pop onto the scene. Think light (or lime) green, pistachio shades, kelly, olive and even chartreuse. Some reserved more for accent pieces rather than full ensembles, but you can't deny it's like-ability. It's also a very friendly compliment to almost any color already in your wardrobe. My favorite unexpected pairing is alongside burgundy, or bordeaux shades. Unique, fun but not too "out there", it makes a typical fall ensemble stand out from the crowd.
Pops Of Pink
The world has yet to recover from Barbie, the movie. Maybe that's why we're all still embracing bubblegum pink. A very, very unexpected storyline to enter the chat of fall 2025 fashion, pops of pink are very much alive and well. Personally, I think this is most well-done when added as an accent to your outfit, but that can also depend on your desire to have pink in your closet. The girly hue looks more elevated when paired with shades of red or burgundy. It stands out against brown in the best way and can take masculine silhouettes into something extra special.
Nothing is actually off limits...
Although orange, green and pink are trends I'm seeing stand out the most, it seems no color is actually off limits at this point. Red still dominates the conversation - not only for fall - and even though butter yellow had it's moment this past spring & summer, it can easily work it's way into a layered, cozy look. Eye-catching blues have been spotted on the runway and Gucci had bright purple as prominent pieces in their September issue ad campaign. I don't expect any interesting color trend for fall 2025 to lose momentum anytime soon, so there's no reason to shy away!
